Nollywood star actress Rita Dominic never fails to wow whenever she speaks about her acting career.
In this feature with CNN titled African Voices, she goes down memory lane as she speaks about her birth place as well as her journey into acting, her passion about the job and the nuances of the everyday life of being a     celebrity.

For one who started acting at the age of five she has certainly earned her stripes in Nollywood.

She said: “I love my job. I love what I do. I love being a different character, that just excites me and I think that’s what gets me going.
“I just wanted to excel in my craft, be the best. [And] as time went on, I guess when you excel in your craft it opens the door for success.”
She also spoke on setting up The Audrey Silva Company, a movie company, with her business partner Mildred Okwo. The company then released a comedy titled The Meeting which she said was warmly received in the Nigerian movie industry.
She added that the company was set up to encourage and support new talents, helping them find their feet in the movie industry.
She had a word or two for upcoming actors looking to make a name for themselves in the movies industry. Using her case as a reference point, she explained that there is nothing that they cannot achieve if they keep their eyes on the target.
She also encouraged them to stay focused and passionate about the job, about improving their crafts than about being concerned with getting fame as excellence in the art brings fame.
