Although the court clerk did not give reasons for the adjournment, she however said that the court will sit over the case tomorrow, March 24.
Metuh’s trial was expected to continue before Justice Okon Abang, who had earlier said he will continue to preside over the matter until the chief judge of the court, Ibrahim Auta takes a decision on a petition written against him by the defendant.
Also adjourned today is the case against the former chief of defense staff, Alex Badeh.
Metuh and Badeh are facing different charges bordering on illegal receipt of public funds and money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
However, the case against Metuh took a different turn when the PDP spokesperson accused the trial judge of being partial in his rulings.
He also said the judge was his classmate while in law school, a fact which Abang has denied.
