Dramatic footage has emerged showing the partial collapse of a bridge connecting the villages of Toormang and Shalfalam over the Panjkora River in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.Images also show scores of desperate residents attempting to cross a huge flooded bridge on the outskirts of Peshawar. Yousuf Zia, a disaster management official in the province, said tents and blankets were being distributed to the homeless following the destruction of nearly 150 homes.

"There are 30 people stranded by a landslide in the Kohistan Valley where we have sent a helicopter to rescue them," he said.
Some of the worst affected areas include Pakhtunkhwa, the Swat Valley situated northwest of the capital, Islamabad, and Pakistani-administered Kashmir.
