JOSÉ MOURINHO ‘RESERVED’ FOR UNITED

José Mourinho 'reserved' for United
José Mourinho could be the next manager of Manchester United afterall, as a Spanish paper, El Pais has reported that the Manchester club have signed a pre-contract agreement with the former Chelsea boss. Reports also suggest United will pay Mourinho £5million if he is not offered the full contract before May 1, and £10m if terms aren’t tabled before June 1. Imagine the smirk on José’s face now

United still reverve the right to change their mind and may not sign Mourinho. However, they seem to be very unsure about their decision: keep Van Gaal (highly unlikely), go with the youth of understudy – Ryan Giggs, or the experience of Mourinho. Their decision will most likely be based on where United finish come season’s end. Key figures like Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton, who feel Mou isn’t the right man for the job may be one of the reasons the club opted for a preliminary contract rather than a full one just yet. Huh?

According to El Pais, Real Madrid sounded out Mourinho to return to the club next season but were told he had the pre-contract agreement and have been ‘reserved’ for United. The Portuguese has been out of work since his sacking by Chelsea in December but has been persistently linked with Louis van Gaal’s job at Manchester United.
