Nigerian army troops seized a huge number of publications on St Michael’s Road
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement has released a statement to respond to yesterday’s incident on St Michael’s Road in Abia, Abia state.
Nigerian army soldiers descended on the road and seized newspapers containing pro-Biafra newspapers or publications containing information on Biafra.
According to the Nation, editions of New Republic, Vesym, Freedom and The Authority were seized by the rampaging soldiers.
In its statement, signed by its spokespersons Emma Nmezu and Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya IPOB directly blames President Muhammadu Buhari for the assault and described his motives as low, absurd, and indicative of the president’s supposed relish in killing.
IPOB’s accusation references the former army general’s service during the Biafra War in which 3 million people died.

“Buhari has never hidden his orgy for the extermination of Biafrans. Buhari was among the army officers who led the British-backed Nigerian Military to massacre over two million Biafrans at Owerri in 1968,” IPOB said.
“When Buhari is not snuffing lives out of unarmed and peaceful Biafrans, he is incarcerating them and denying them access to basic information platforms.”
