Bayelsa re-run poll: My re-election is divine —Ex-Speaker

Yenagoa—Former Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Mr. Kombowei Benson, has said that his re-election into the state House of Assembly for the fourth term to represent Southern Ijaw Constituency IV was divine.

Benson, who spoke on his victory, said that the nullification of his earlier election was regrettable and that the victory in last Saturday’s re-run was a confirmation of his acceptance by the people.

He vacated his position following the nullification of his election by the Court of Appeal as challenged by Mr. Ebifighe Orunimighe of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He thanked the people of his constituency for their mandate with a promise to continue to give them effective representation.
