Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has defended Neymar for show-boating against opponents
The Frenchman believes the Brazilian is interpreting football in the way he understands it
Los Blancos are on the verge of breaking the winning streak set by Barcelona in 2008/09 season
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has defended Neymar following claims that the Barcelona star deliberately disrespects and provokes opponents.
Neymar has been criticised for showboating against opponents which have resulted in players getting violent against him in the process but Zidane does not see anything wrong with it.
“I cannot watch inside Neymar’s head, but I don’t think it’s a provocation,” Zidane said.
“Everyone interprets football as they see fit and he interprets it his way. And he does things that not many players can do. I don’t see it as him provoking.”
Los Blancos are also on the verge of creating history if they win their 17th La Liga match against Villarreal which Pep Guardiola set with Barcelona in the 2008/09 season.
The record was of little interest to Zidane stating that he preferred to concentrate on where improvements in the team could be made.

“We’ll do the best we can, but we – the players, the coach – can always improve.
“We’re doing pretty well but there’s still criticism, that’s normal and when you sign on here you know how it is.”
The Frenchman believes the Yellow Submarine will give Real who has not hit their best form a run for their money when they both teams meet at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“What we know is that we will have a tricky home game against a very good opponent who he hasn’t lost.
“They’re a good team that has good players and what we need to do is prepare for the game well.
“We’ll try to keep a clean sheet,” he added.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale will be back from injuries to face Villarreal
Los Merengues will be having the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale after both players missed their last match to Espanyol to the flu and hip injuries.
