Allain John-Morrison, a former councilor of ward 1, in the Abua/Odua local government area of Rivers state has been killed by some gunmen clad in military uniform.

John-Morrison, who is also a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was killed on Tuesday, June 21.
Report has it that he was returning from Port Harcourt where an Appeal Court had ruled in favour of his party in a case involving 22 sacked local government chairmen.
He was said to be heading towards the Ahoada area on a motorcycle when he was ambushed by his killers, The Punch reports.
The killers trailed the APC chief to a lonely place around Okobuo village before beheading him.
The motorcyclist carrying him was spared by the gunmen and he reported the ordeal to the police.
Confirming the incident, Gift Igoma, a former caretaker committee chairman of Abua/Odua LGA, who confirmed the incident, described it as horrific.
He said the motorcyclist, who narrowly escaped told the people at the police station that the killers were three and dressed in military uniform.
He therefore called on security agencies to investigate the murder.
