Neymar bought a jet for $9.1 million

Brazilian authorities could charge Neymar over four counts of fraud in relation to a tax case prior to his transfer to Barcelona in 2013

A yacht, a jet, three companies belonging to Neymar’s were frozen 

Barcelona super star Neymar reportedly spent a huge sum of money.

According to the Brazilian source O Globo, Barcelona striker Neymar spent $9.1 million on a new jet last year.

The source reports that  document shows that the player purchased the Cessna 680 aircraft in August 2015 through his company Neymar Sport and Marketing.

This jet can carry up to 12 passengers, has a maximum range of 3,190 miles and can cruise at a speed of 890 kilometres per hour.

It would be recalled that Neymar, 23, is accused of tax evasion between 2011 and 2013 and faces legal proceedings. He was accused of setting up companies in his name to avoid paying taxes for his wealth. Prosecutors accuse Neymar of setting up companies as fronts in order to pay a lower rate of tax.

They demand he pay 63.6 million reias ($16m; £11m) in allegedly undeclared taxes. The court ordered his assets be frozen to ensure the payment plus any possible fines, it said. An auditor with the federal tax agency told the Associated Press news agency that Neymar could still appeal the decision and that he was unlikely to face jail.

The auditor said: “If he pays what he owes, the case is closed. Our legislation isn’t too harsh.”

Neymar also denied any wrongdoing in that case.
