He was arraigned before the court on a three-count charge of conspiracy, forgery and uttering
Rami El Masri, a Lebanese was arraigned by the police in Lagos for allegedly forging a letter of confirmation of Nigeria citizenship with reference number MIA/NAT 382 on Thursday, April 21.

Police arraigns Lebanese for forgery
According to Leadership, Masri, who was said to own two construction companies on Lagos-Ibadan expressway, allegedly committed the offence between December 15, 2008 and November 19, 2014.
He was arraigned before the court on a three-count charge of conspiracy, forgery and uttering.
DSP Susan Ezema, the police prosecutor, said: “Masri on 15 of December 2008, at 6, Oniru Street, in Apapa area of Lagos state forged a letter of confirmation of Nigerian citizenship with Ref: No MIA/NAT382/1 thereby falsely and fraudulently presenting himself as a Nigerian citizen by birth.”
Ezema also claimed that the defendant presented himself as a Nigerian citizen knowing that the information was false but wanted it to be acted upon as genuine in Nigeria.
The prosecutor alleged that the foreigner on November 19 , 2014, at the police special fraud unit, at 13, Milveton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, presented the alleged forged letter to one Martin Nwogoh, a chief superintendent of police as a genuine document.
She insisted that the offence is punishable under sections 363 (3), 363 (4) and 409 of the criminal law of Lagos state, 2011.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Meanwhile, a gang of about 50 people with dangerous weapons on Tuesday night, April 19 attacked Kibiya local government and abducted 3 people among whom is the wife of the former chairman of the local government, Alhaji Garba Umar.
