Yewande has since been detained at Agodi Prison custody by Mrs Kehinde Durosaro-Tijani, the Chief Magistrate, pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, in the state.
The accused was said to have appeared in court wearing a veil. The prosecuting and defense lawyers were involved in a word battle after this.
The counsel had moved a motion for the family of the deceased when a note, questioning and doubting the true identity of the accused, was written by one of the family members.
Counsel to the complainant, Chief Aliyu, addressed the note by demanding for the removal of the veil the suspect used to cover her face during the trial in order to ascertain her identity.
However, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Kehinde Durosaro-Tijani, decided to let the accused person appear in court wearing a veil.
The court decided to let the accused person appear in court with a veil stating it would give the suspect the liberty to show only the counsel and the trial judge her face.
